Raven
It is said that the Raven released the “light” or sun into the sky, and so ended the dark time.
Intellect, cultural hero, messenger and trickster are some of the characteristics Raven is known for.  Raven also symbolizes new beginnings and prestige.   

Eagle

Eagle is a majestic bird easily spotted on the North West Coast.  Eagle is a symbol for unity, peace, and strength.  As Eagle soars to great heights, it is believed he is the messenger between us and the Ancestors.  Once paired, eagles remain together for the remainder of their lives.  

Killerwhale

Also known as the Orca or  Blackfish,  Killerwhale represents longevity.   Killerwhale  is known as a voyager.  Killerwhale is the greatest force in the water kingdom.   It is known that Killerwhales are highly social and very family oriented.

Thunderbird

Thunderbird is highly regarded.  Thunderbird is a regal figure in North West Coast history.  It was believed he lived high in the mountains and was a  powerful spirit.  A mythical bird, it is said that his great wings caused thunder when he flew and when he blinked his eyes flashed  lightening.

Wolf

Wolf is a symbol that represents protection, unity and family.  Wolf is known as the great hunter.  

Bear

Bear is a symbol of strength, power and protection.  Bear is known for its similarities to human.  Bear also can represent twin spirit.

Hummingbird

Hummingbird represents the beauty in healing and is known as the joyful messenger.   Hummingbird is known to travel great distances. Hummingbird is agile and loves the temperate climate of the Pacific Northwest’s summer.

Salmon

Salmon is the greatest gift.  Salmon is associated with good fortune and luck.  

 
Sun

Sun changed the World.  When Raven threw it into the sky the flowers began to blossom.  Sun represents beauty, change and healing.

Moon

Moon is the force that controls the Water Kingdom.  With the power to control the tides.  Moon is known as the guardian.  With each new Moon begins a important time for the WestCoast
